FAQ

Can I upgrade, downgrade or cancel whenever I want?

Yes to all three. Upgrades take effect immediately and the difference is prorated. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period. Cancellation is self-serve, with no retention call and no long-term contract — cancelling stops the renewal, and you keep access until the period you've already paid for ends.

What's your refund policy?

14 days from any charge. If you're not happy with measure.expert, email us within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it. After 14 days, charges aren't refundable — we don't refund pro rata if you cancel mid-term, and unused auto-scans aren't refunded separately. Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record, who handle the refund itself.

What counts as an auto-scan?

One auto-scan is one run of automatic detection on one sheet of your uploaded document — scale, rooms and surfaces. It's counted the moment you start the run. If you delete a document and upload it again, it's treated as a new document, so scanning its sheets uses new auto-scans. Deleting a document doesn't refund auto-scans already used. Your allowance resets each billing period. Unused auto-scans don't carry over.

What happens if I run out of auto-scans mid-period?

You can upgrade at any point and keep working — existing projects and measurements are untouched, and everything you've already counted stays fully available. Extra auto-scans can't be bought separately, so upgrading is the way to get more. Nothing is ever charged automatically for hitting a limit.

Do I need a credit card for the trial?

Yes, and that is deliberate. Your payment details are in place from day one, so when the trial ends nothing stops mid-project while you go and find a card. Nothing is charged when you start — the card is only used at the end of the 14 days, and only if you have not cancelled. Only Individual Lite has a trial. Auto-scans you use during it come out of your first month's 5; the trial has no allowance of its own. The other packages have no trial and are billed from the day you subscribe.

Will I be charged automatically when the trial ends?

Yes. The subscription simply continues on day 15, so you keep working without re-entering anything or losing what you set up. We email you 3 days beforehand with the tier, the price and how to cancel. Cancel any time in those 14 days and you are not charged at all.

Where is my data stored?

Your documents, measurements and account data are processed in the EU/EEA, on AWS in Frankfurt, in line with the GDPR. Payment and invoicing data is handled by Paddle in the UK, which the European Commission has found to offer an adequate level of protection. Your documents are yours: we don't sell them, we don't use them to train AI, and you can export or delete them at any time.
